If this is the first time you’re hearing about online marketing, you should know that there are many ways to do it, but perhaps the most common the search engine marketing. What is it?
It’s basically improving your website rank on Google yet, at the same time, making sure your website is a good enough marketing machine. Of course, there are other forms of online marketing, but for purposes of this article, we will only focus on search engine marketing or SEM.
Precisely because there are many courses out there on SEO (and you can always go to Google Webmasters for the details), we will only talk about some SEO basics here. And what are these basics? Regular website updating, onsite optimization, and link building.
When you’ve built your website, make sure you update it regularly, at least once a week. However, we will advise you against using badly spun content – the search engines are smart enough to recognize the badly spun content. Instead, curate relevant content (articles, videos, and pictures) from news sites and authority sites and write a paragraph or two about them.
When it comes to online marketing services like building links, do NOT overdo it. Only do link building efforts that are still working now, like tiered linking and High PR authority link building.
Once you’ve got your optimisation efforts in place, make sure your website is designed in such a way that visitors who found you on Google will want to stay on your website and read what you have to say, whatever it may be.
